This book series involves three (soon to be four) roommates being trained to be spies at an highly elite female-only boarding school. They learn how to fight, see the different things in pictures with just a glimpse, learn how to disguise themselves, learn different languages, use different spy gear, hack into computers, take rides in helicopters... So, what is the problem with this book?

There's a shoehorned romance with our protagonist and some bland, boring guy who can’t know the “truth” behind Gallagher Academy and the real story behind Cammie. So shoehorned romance and a large secret behind Cammie. At least it’s not a paranormal romance and the guy isn’t an abusive douche bag, fuckwit.

This hexalogy was written in 2006 to 2013. Each book takes place during a semester, starting with Cammie’s sophomore year, ending with her graduation.

I didn't know what to get Kriss for her birthday, so I just made her some origami cake slice boxes with colorful origami paper that my maids had managed to get from Prince Maxon. I hadn't done origami in years, since we couldn't afford origami paper. I had discovered origami when I was around nine. I was rooting through landfill with my family, searching for clothes that would fit, even if it was stained or had holes that were easy to patch up. I had discovered an origami guide that I took to read. I figured that a Five must have discarded it after they perfected it. After trial and error, I finally managed to get the hang of it again. I just needed to practice. Read more... )

It was now a month into the Selection. I was beginning to feel homesick and I was missing my family. I was even missing my boss at the construction site, for some reason.

I was surprised that I didn't end up as a top pick on the magazine. Kayleigh, Emily, and I had a good at the fact that Celeste wasn't picked either.

We all had gone on a few 'dates' with Maxon. The only that had more than us was Marlee. In a way, I was glad that I wasn't catching Maxon's interest since I wouldn't have to find a nice way to tell him that Elizabeth and I had switched places.

It took three days to get ready for Queen Amberly's extended family to show up and Swendway's royal family to come for a visit. It was a full house tonight. My maids had made me dress up in a mint green summer dress with a black ribbon around the waist. They had given me a floppy straw hat that a mint green ribbon on it.

I was standing under a tree, seriously wondering if my maids loved giving me dresses with ribbons, when a girl, about ten years old, came up to me. She wore a blue dress with a green ribbon around the waist, which was sparkling. I was sure it was inlaid with emeralds. She had a little braid in her hair, matching my braid.

She was grinning widely as she stood next to me. "I'm Annalee."

I stood on the set to be interviewed, wearing an indigo blue knee-length dress with a purple bow around the waist with sapphires sewed on it. I was beginning to see that people love putting bows on my dress.

I thought that Kayleigh Pouligh and Emily Arnold had done well on their interviews.

I was called up to be interviewed by Gavril, and when I went to shake his hand I noticed a pin on his lapel. It was an X in a star. It was the symbol of the Northern Rebels.

"Is there a problem, Miss Ivanova?" asked Gavril.

"N-no," I said, dragging my face up to look at Gavril's face. I shook his head, and sat down. I was still a little uneasy over Gavril being a rebel and essentially broad casted it over TV.

We were gathered in the Great Room, getting a history lecture. The Sevens had poor education, but from what I had managed to learn, there was a world of difference from what I know and what the other girls know.

For instance the United States president was President Wallis, who led them through the war. And the motivation for the Chinese invading the United States was money. However, what I had heard was that many years ago the Chinese and the United States were already on the brink of war and something between them just snapped.

The ASC tried to pretend that everything was all right when it was going to hell.

On Saturday, we gathered in the Women's Room. I still thought that it was a stupid name. As soon as I entered, I looked for a spot that was as far away from Celeste, as possible. I wasn't in the mood for Celeste's babble and inane comments.

Kayleigh Poulin came over, grabbed my arm and took me to the wall that was as far away from Celeste as possible.

"How was your day with Prince Maxon?" asked Kayleigh.

I was confused. I don't know how she knew. "How do you know about that?"

After lunch, Maxon asked me if I wanted to go on a stroll in the garden, so I agreed. I got glared at by Celeste and Emmica, so I just smiled and waved. After flicking the bow around my waist at them, of course.

"So, tell me, Lady Elizabeth," Maxon started, "What was your life like, before the Selection."

After the rebel attack, we had to write a letter home telling our parents that we were okay during the rebel attacks. Since I wasn't sure if our letters were read to make sure any confidential secrets weren't released, I had to phrase my letter carefully, asking if January was missing from work during the rebel attack. I hadn't gotten a reply yet, which I wasn't that upset over, since they're probably working overtime to help out with losing a paycheck.

At breakfast, someone brought up America's 'date' with Prince Maxon. I wouldn't call it a date, considering dates aren't supposed to end with someone getting kneed in the groin. I had watched the entire thing from my balcony in my room. I had been feeling annoyed after breakfast yesterday and I glared at my wall for a while, which made me feel better.

Although I shouldn't be a hypocrite. One of my dates with my ex boyfriend, Haven, ended up with us getting in trouble with the police. Luckily no arrests were made, although my parents weren't to happy with me getting a public indecency ticket. It was my idea to go skinny dipping, but it wasn't my idea for Haven's best friend, Sage, to come along. I'm still not sure who called the police.

After the camera left us alone in the dining room, we finally get to eat our breakfast. It consisted of eggs, bacon, and pancakes, along with tarts. I had to remind myself to use the tongs when I went for a lemon meringue tart.

"Lady Elizabeth?" Maxon called, right as I bit into my lemon meringue tart.

The next morning, I was dressed in a knee-length silver dress. My name tag was pinned to the thick strap of my dress. The pleated, frilly skirt part of the dress had diamonds inlaid in it. There was a bow sash around the waist that had sapphires on the bow. Did any of my ancestors mine for these? I wondered.

Cho had put light blue eyeliner on me to make my ‘dark blue eyes pop’ and Marilyn combed out my black hair and braided a lock of my hair. After getting me ready, they wished me luck and I reminded them to ask about sending food to my family.

Once we were gathered, I looked at the gilded mirror again. It was all so weird to be pampered like this.

“Did you really pick out that dress?” someone asked me.

For dinner, I sat between Sosie Keeper and Anna Farmer.

I looked down at my steak. I think the last time I had steak was back when Lizzie and I were ten. Back before Adam and Alyssa were born, when January and October were eight, and Caitlyn and Craig were six.

I was ushered out of my room and into the Women's Room. I couldn't help but think that the name was stupid. They couldn't have called it the Entertainment Room or Main Room since we're going to be in here longer or something?

"Elizabeth, over here!" a girl shouted.

"Give me the beautiful smile from the picture they selected," a man shouted.

When Emily got home, she tore the dress off. She put on some ripped skinny jeans and her favorite band tee-shirt. She removed the pins from her hair and shook it out, feeling free. She opened the window and went to put a CD in her stereo, turned it to the number that her favorite song was on. She turned it all the up and the song Sad But True by Metallica came blasting out through the speakers.

She couldn't help but jump onto her bed and started headbanging and air guitar. )

Link just stared at Lena and Ethan who were staring at each other, before he grabbed his tray and stood up. He looked around before finally spotting a lone boy sitting at a table by himself. In a way, that guy looked cool with shaggy blond hair with the right side dip-dyed right and the left side dip-dyed blue.

The house next door hasn't been lived in for seven months. The house's previous occupants usually took off during the middle of the night after four or so months, and never returned. Of course that only rose Marianne's curiosity of the house that was next door.

“It’s the middle of the day. Nothing to worry about.” Susan’s mother had reassured her.

Needless to say, Susan wasn’t reassured at all. She was sixteen years old. She could handle staying home alone, all day. She previously did, which was before the move and her mental breakdown.

My Journal

I'm kind of, sort of, new to this whole website, even though I was over at LiveJournal before I came here. I'm trying to get situated over here, so my journal entries are backed up in the Queue because I was trying to import them from my previous account. I kind of got tired of looking at the blank nothingness of my journal page.

I'm kind of exploring the journal thing at the moment. Once I figure out what to actually post, I'll post it. Maybe I'll delete this one afterwards or something. Maybe it'll have to do with my interests.
