A History Lesson

We were gathered in the Great Room, getting a history lecture. The Sevens had poor education, but from what I had managed to learn, there was a world of difference from what I know and what the other girls know.
For instance the United States president was President Wallis, who led them through the war. And the motivation for the Chinese invading the United States was money. However, what I had heard was that many years ago the Chinese and the United States were already on the brink of war and something between them just snapped.
The ASC tried to pretend that everything was all right when it was going to hell.
Granted, I heard that ancient saying that history books were written by the winners.
"Does anyone have anything they'd like to add?" Silvia asked.
"The Chinese invasion prompted several countries, particularly those in Europe, to align themselves with one another and make alliances," Briel said.
"Yes, however, the American State of China had no such friends at the time," Silvia said.
I couldn't help but laugh at that and tried to stiffle my laughs when I got looks from the other girls.
"You got something you want to share, Miss Ivanova?" Silvia asked looking displeased.
"I'm sorry, but I've been told that many years before World War 3, the United States actually had friends," I said. "The Europeans..." I noticed some dirty looks, "yes, even Russia, were all part of this group. So, they wouldn't exactly sit by and let America get invaded by the Chinese."
The others gave me strange looks. Silvia just looked displeased. I continued, "I don't know why the Chinese invaded America for, though."
"You're Russian, so of course you would stick up for Russia. You tried attacking China and Illéa," Celeste accused.
"That's your point-of-view," I countered. "From what I've been told that Russia actually tried to help, but they got beaten back due to America's nuclear arsenal. So Russia tried to avoid starting a war due to becoming friends with America after some minor struggles in the ancient times, but they backed out to avoid nuking everyone in the world, including our neighbors. I don't even know why Russia is friends with Illéa after that, but I think it might be some sort of apology. I don't know, but I do question why our history is different from your history, though." I shrugged. "After all, they say that history is written by the winners."
