I didn't know what to get Kriss for her birthday, so I just made her some origami cake slice boxes with colorful origami paper that my maids had managed to get from Prince Maxon. I hadn't done origami in years, since we couldn't afford origami paper. I had discovered origami when I was around nine. I was rooting through landfill with my family, searching for clothes that would fit, even if it was stained or had holes that were easy to patch up. I had discovered an origami guide that I took to read. I figured that a Five must have discarded it after they perfected it. After trial and error, I finally managed to get the hang of it again. I just needed to practice. I made two origami butterflies, one each for Kayleigh and Emily, since I considered them my best friends...and they knew to much, especially my identity. So, when Kriss's birthday arrived, my maids had me dress in a dress with a white lace top and a yellow pleated skirt with a ribbon of course. I was surprised that there wasn't any jewels inlaid in the ribbon. I took the cake slice boxes to the Women's Room and found a table with yellow and white flowers in a vase. I went to the table and tried to become with the floral decorations by hiding by them. I arranged the cake slices in a circle, to make it a full cake. It was beautiful in my opinion. It was a yellow cake with white paper to look like filling. I had even added added an origami flower on top of the six cake boxes each. Kriss most likely wouldn't use the boxes but I tried my best. My blending in with the flowers didn't work because Kayleigh and Emily came over to me. "Hey, Elizabeth," Emily said. She blinked and lowered her voice to a whisper, "I mean, hey, Edith." "Nice save," muttered Kayleigh. She noticed the paper cake. "Did you make this?" "With my blood," I said. At their confused look, I added, "Paper cuts." I picked up a cake box, took off the flower, and opened it. "It's boxes." "That's so cool," said Emily as I put the cake box back in it's place. "I don't know how to paper fold." "I can show you how," I said. "Thanks," Emily said looking relieved. "My sisters would be so jealous." "I want to threaten my enemies by saying I know origami, and it would be hilarious because I know origami," Kayleigh said. We laughed at that. "That doesn't sound threatening," I said. "Oh, America's looking at us," said Kayleigh. I looked over and sure enough, America was staring. I said, "just smile and wave, smile and wave." We all smiled and waved at her. She smiled and waved back. "Who's the butterflies for?" asked Emily going back to our little group. "I haven't noticed them. They're cute." "They're actually for you two," I said a little sheepish. "I think of you as my best friends, so I made them for you two." They looked touched. Kriss finally made her arrival. She looked regal in a floor length cream colored dress, with her hair done up with yellow jewels that looked like a crown. "I'm glad that she's sticking out," I admitted. "Less chance for Prince Maxon to bother me." Kriss came over to us looking elated, "Thank you for coming to my birthday party." I almost said that it was mandatory, but I couldn't ruin her mood. "You're welcome." I motioned to the cake slices, "I made this for you as a present." Kriss looked confused, "I already have a cake." I picked up a slice and opened it, "But does that double as a box?" Kriss laughed, "That's so cute. I could hide my stuff in it." Of course Kriss's day had to be ruined. First America had to play her violin to Kriss as a birthday present, but I really thought that it was America's way of taking the spotlight from Kriss. And then Celeste had somehow threw punch all over Kriss's dress, but Celeste claimed that she had turned so fast and that punch spilled all over Kriss's dress. The poor girl had ran out of there crying. And just like that, the party was over. As we were leaving, someone whispered, "You ought to leave, Edith, before you're little secret comes out." As I turned to see who whispered it, I saw Bariel hurrying away. That wasn't good.
