When Emily got home, she tore the dress off. She put on some ripped skinny jeans and her favorite band tee-shirt. She removed the pins from her hair and shook it out, feeling free. She opened the window and went to put a CD in her stereo, turned it to the number that her favorite song was on. She turned it all the up and the song Sad But True by Metallica came blasting out through the speakers.
Guns N' Roses was one of the other bands that made her realize that she wanted to become an guitarist. The song Iron Man by Black Sabbath was the first song she learned how to play on the electric guitar when she was ten.
"Turn it down!" She managed to hear her dad yell from outside the window over the music. He was doing his nightly gardening and after that, he was going to water the lawn. He always claimed that the lawn wasn't going to make itself green.
She went to the window and looked out at her dad who was holding some pruning sheers. She shouted back at him, "That was the most un-metal thing you can ever say to a metal-head, Dad!"
