Interview Time

I stood on the set to be interviewed, wearing an indigo blue knee-length dress with a purple bow around the waist with sapphires sewed on it. I was beginning to see that people love putting bows on my dress.
I thought that Kayleigh Pouligh and Emily Arnold had done well on their interviews.
I was called up to be interviewed by Gavril, and when I went to shake his hand I noticed a pin on his lapel. It was an X in a star. It was the symbol of the Northern Rebels.
"Is there a problem, Miss Ivanova?" asked Gavril.
"N-no," I said, dragging my face up to look at Gavril's face. I shook his head, and sat down. I was still a little uneasy over Gavril being a rebel and essentially broad casted it over TV.
"Elizabeth Ivanova," started Gavril. "You're the only girl in the Selection that came from Russia, is that correct."
I nodded, "Yeah. It was a long flight to come here." I felt my face heat up by using the unnecessary detail.
Gavril nodded, "How does it feel to come from Russia? You know, being the enemy?"
I thought it was a little weird to be asked that. Gavril didn't ask the other girls questions like that.
"Gavril," Maxon chided, sounding displeased at that.
"It's fine," I said, before Gavril could ask a different. "It's fun. I enjoy getting dirty looks and whispers behind my back. In fact, I wouldn't even be shocked if I get punched in the face at some point. I think it was because at one point I was caught dancing naked in the moonlight out in the palace grounds."
I was joking of course, but the look on Gavril's face was priceless. He looked like he couldn't tell if I was being serious or not.
Gavril asked, "What would you say your favorite thing is about the palace so far?"
"The woods," I said quickly. "I love how close it is to me. I love to go bear wrestling in the middle of the night. It reminds me of home. My family and I used to go have bear wrestling competitions on weekends. It brings us all together. You know what they say about family? Family that wrestles bears together, stays together." I made a fist and shook it at the camera. "Am I right?"
Gavril chuckled, and gave the camera a what the hell look. He was probably regretting his decision of interviewing me.
Why were these people so damn easy to mess with?
"You said competition," Gavril said. "Who's the winner?"
"My brother, Craig," I said. "He won for three straights years in a row. Our sister, Caitlyn, won for a month. Alyssa just won three weeks ago and she's six-years-old." I gave a thumbs-up to the camera. "How's that for girl power?"
"How do you feel knowing that our prince over here is providing public assistance for food for Five, Six, Seven, and Eights?" Gavril asked.
Finally, a different question.
"I think it's a splendid idea," I said truthfully. It made me feel a lot better knowing that at least my stories helped create the idea. "That is one of the reasons why I know that Prince Maxon here is trying to do a world of difference. At least my family and I don't have to hunt for our food in the woods anymore."
"And that's our...lovely Miss Elizabeth Ivanova, ladies and gentlemen," Gavril said quickly to the camera. "A very...interesting individual."
I stood up and curtsied to the camera and then at Gavril. "Thank you for your time."
I left the set and Celeste stopped when we were a little ways away, so we won't be heard.
"What is your problem?" Celeste demanded.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"You're making a mockery of the Selection with your BS stories," Celeste said. "You don't belong here if you're going to embarrass us all."
"What are you going to do about it?" I asked. "Going to get me disqualified like Anna Farmer? News flash, you don't scare me because I find you pathetic and you make us all look bad for being the way you treat others." I turned and walked over to where Kayleigh and Emily were laughing. I was confused, "What's so funny?"
"You," Kayleigh said. "You should've seen Gavril's face. He was so confused."
"Why do you do that, anyway?" Emily asked. "Make up stories, I mean."
I shrugged, "I'm stuck here. Might as well as some fun, doing it."
