Link just stared at Lena and Ethan who were staring at each other, before he grabbed his tray and stood up. He looked around before finally spotting a lone boy sitting at a table by himself. In a way, that guy looked cool with shaggy blond hair with the right side dip-dyed right and the left side dip-dyed blue.
Link could practically hear his mother screeching, "That boy is a heathen! Look at his hair!" That thought gave him more of an incentive to become friends with him. Link hurried over and sat down across from the boy.
He looked up at Link, "I'm Craig."
Link nodded at Craig, "Link."
"Let me guess, you're third-wheeling it, too?" Craig asked, sounding sympathetic.
"Yeah," Link replied, "My friends are just staring at each other all bug-eyed. They've been doing that a lot lately, to be honest. It's like they acknowledge my presence for a few seconds and then just go right back to staring at each other."
"I'd rather deal with that than watching my friends make out," Craig said and thumbed over to the far corner of the cafeteria where two goth looking girls were making out.
Link looked back at Craig, "Sheesh. We should start a club, call it the Third-Wheelers Club."
"Yes and we have meetings, too where we introduce people to each other who felt like they were third-wheeling it and become friends or something like that. Maybe call each other when you feel like a third-wheel or something," Craig stated.
A girl with dyed aqua hair suddenly sat at their table and she viciously ripped a bread roll in half.
Link arched and eyebrow, "You're third-wheeling it too?"
"Yes," The girl replied as she ate one half of a bread roll.
"I'm Link and this is Craig," Link introduced, "Welcome to the Third-Wheelers Club.
"I'm Karen," She did a fist pump, "Whoo-hoo. My parents would be so proud of me that I became part of a club."
